An original commission takes time, attention, and the freedom to discover something unexpected. Here is how the journey begins.
The language of makingGenerated visual studyI
A private introduction
We begin with a conversation about the idea, the place, and what matters to you. Together, we consider whether a commission is the right expression.
An invitation to tell us a little about your world. There is no obligation to commission. Discovery fees and the scope of further work are discussed before you commit.
II
The artistic encounter
Two artists meet you in a place of significance. They listen, observe, and exchange ideas. A shared point of departure begins to emerge.
The encounter may take place at your home, another meaningful location, or through an agreed private consultation. Travel, access, scheduling and confidentiality are agreed in advance.
III
Interpretation & creation
Your story becomes the starting point for an independent artistic response. Materials, scale, and the rhythm of creation are agreed with care.
The artists develop a proposal with medium, dimensions, budget and review points. Original artistic interpretation remains central. Production schedules depend on practice and materials; an estimate is provided with the proposal.
IV
The unveiling
An original work finds its place in your world, accompanied by its story, authorship, and the details that establish its provenance.
Delivery, installation, handling and any specialist requirements are defined in the commission agreement. Documentation records authorship, materials and the work’s provenance. Reproduction rights and care guidance are discussed separately.
Considered in advance.
Time & travel+
Each schedule is estimated individually, after the medium and scope are established. Travel, location access, insurance and specialist logistics are discussed before the encounter.
Privacy & documentation+
You decide what may be shared. Confidentiality, photography, publication and treatment of personal information are agreed before work begins.
Fees & authorship+
Paid discovery and production are separate, clearly scoped stages. Artist fees, expenses, payment terms, ownership and reproduction rights are documented in the agreement.
